No IT Recession Yet

The data is in from our IT spending survey. While I can't publish the data or post it on my blog until we share it with the survey respondents, I can say that I agree with Gartner Vice President Ken McGee that there's no recession in IT yet. In a note he published on Feb. 1, he wrote:

"We did not see negative growth in any of the 'Information Processing Equipment and Software' components of GDP for either 3Q07 [the quarter prior to the suspected recession] or for 4Q07."

Gartner has projected a 3.3% increase in IT spending in 2008.
