CDW Survey: IT Spending Still Rising

As of February, 53 percent of companies still plan to increase IT spending, according to CDW's monthly monitor of IT spending plans and perceptions.

But CDW isn't throwing its hat in the air about the news: "The greenlighting of actual technology investments will depend on the overall economic environment, which remains uncertain," says Mark Gambill, CDW's vice president responsible for the research.

Our own IT spending survey, released last month, shows a sharp divide between the robust spending plans of companies below $500 million and the far more conservative plans of larger companies. Still, investments in virtualization and many important enterprise applications are continuing.
