That's why IT services firms showed big gains in payrolls last month, while other industries showed big losses.
When the economy is weak, as it is now, IT systems are even more important to business so they can continue to function efficiently. The same can't said about other services. Businesses can survive day-to-day with fewer architects, lawyers and administrative support staffers.
