A release from background-check firm First Advantage Private Limited says "fraudulent credentials and employment discrepancies on resumes is becoming more of an issue to companies in India. The discrepancy rate - a result of labor crunches and rising unemployment rates - are highest for the banking; financial services, insurance and IT sectors."

Not sure how "labor crunches" jibe with "rising unemployment rates," and of course it behooves a background-check firm to discuss potential reasons that you might want to pay for background checks, but worth noting, I guess.

Not that stuff like that ever happens in the U.S.
