Commenter jonmca pushes back on Nick Carr's OMG-the-nets-is-rewiring-our-brains thesis: A suggestion to Nick: Go on an extended vacation in a remote location without a computer, cell phone, TV, etc., and bring a dozen or so books. I bet after you've read the first book or two your "deep diving" reading abilities will return.

I can vouch for the fact that the web didn't destroy my attention span -- my attention span was limited long before the web. Maybe that's why blogging seemed natural to me from the first time I tried it.
