Prying eyes

One in three IT pros admit to using admin passwords to snoop on confidential information, including the email and pay packages of their colleagues.

Almost half of the folks surveyed by security firm Cyber-Ark say they use their access to see information not necessary to their job function.

Reuters has the story.

My guess is the 1/3 number is low.

Snooping isn't just creepy, it may be illegal, too: "A federal appeals court Wednesday sharply limited the ability of employers to obtain e-mails and text messages sent by employees on company-financed accounts."
