Delta will become the first major airline to offer fleetwide in-flight wireless internet service.

I would gladly pay for wi-fi on longer flights, and I'd choose a carrier with wireless access over one without it if other factors are roughly equal.

Some people worry that they'll lose downtime and will be tethered to work because of the perpetual connection, but that's their problem. As long as they keep passengers from yacking on mobile phones in the air, I'll be happy.
