It's Steve's World, We Just Live in It

Steve Jobs says iPhone competes in the netbook marketplace.

Dave Winer parses Jobs: "As with all Jobsisms, it's beautifully elegant, true -- and misleading. You have to read it very carefully."

In any case, iPhone is huge: "Imagine Apple treated the iPhone like it did the Mac: it would have recorded an additional $3.8 billion in revenue and an additional $1.3 billion in net income during the company's fourth fiscal quarter...Apple has completed its transformation from a computer company into a consumer electronics company, the only computer company of its generation to successfully pull off that transition."

The $25 billion in cash on hand is nice, too.

Sg :

We have "convinced" our CIO to setup the exchange integration for the I-Phone and I can certainly use it as my only device during a busy day without opening my laptop. As long as I can catch up on a full size computer by the end of the day, I am all good.

It will be interesting to see how many F1000 companies announce support for the Iphone as a corporate device. That will be the big test!
