I saw Obama and Biden speak in my hometown last week. At the beginning of the rally, the large audience was invited to send text messages via shortcode in order to enter some sort of contest.

Seems to have been part of the address-harvesting strategy that included the Biden announcement -- all aimed at improving the ground game.

Smart.
