New Tech to Keep Net Traffic Flowing
I'm a longtime skeptic of the Internet-is-choking crowd, because when I pick up the phone and report the story I find knowledgeable people who make data-driven arguments that core capacity is healthy and will continue to grow as new technology comes onlne.
The real problems exist at the edges of the network, and in the last mile. Good to see that technology is arriving on schedule for the edges, too.
More here: "Cisco projects a sixfold jump in Internet traffic between 2007 and 2012, with online video as the biggest driver of global data communications...the ASR is an 'edge' router that carriers use to transfer data traffic among local networks in cities."
