Forrester Revises IT Spending Forecast, Again
"Weakening economies will push spending on information technology products and services down 3 percent this year after seven years of growth, according to Forrester Research." That's the latest revision.
Forrester's previously revised its numbers in December, backing off an earlier prediction of robust growth for 2009. As I said then, "Forrester is reacting, not predicting. That's no special knock on Forrester, it applies to a lot of prognosticators, but let's be serious -- the 1.6% growth rate is contingent upon so many things in a fluid and in some ways unprecedented environment as to be meaningless."
