Leading IT in 2010
Our sister publication, Baseline, has an interesting look at 10 top IT trends for 2010.
Most of them are obvious, and it's never easy to accurately predict what will happen in any given year, but this analysis is a good start.
In our year-end issue, we took a different approach: We asked four leading CIOs to tell us their stories. But instead of making broad, all-encompassing predictions, they wrote about a key strategic priority for 2010:
- For Bill Krivoshik, the first enterprise CIO for Marsh & McLennan Companies, it's all about building and shaping the CIO role at the company.
- Rebecca Jacoby at Cisco focuses on communicating with the business--and communicating IT's value to the networking giant.
- Stuart McGuigan at CVS Caremark is busy leading his organization to help it contribute to a new business model created by the merger of two industry-leading healthcare companies.
- And Lorie Buckingham, a veteran leader of major IT transformations, talks about what she's doing to reshape and refine IT operations at Avaya.
We're going to follow up these pieces with plenty more first-person CIO accounts about their top priorities.
In the meantime, tell us: What are your top priorities for 2010? What do you think other CIOs will be busy with?
