Here'a a bit that caught my eye this morning: Citrix, HP and others are pushing a "Power Down IT Day."
Sure, they may have self-serving motivations for doing it, and it's not the first industry-wide effort like this, but it's interesting all the same. One mild oddity: it's slated for August 27, which falls smack in the middle of a week where a good chunk of the U.S. workforce will be on vacation.
I guess it was just the green thing that jumped out at me; We just posted our new research on corporate eco-friendliness, and our buddies at Baseline looked at the topic in their latest issue.
I'm still kinda wondering if this whole green thing is real, and whether or not it's really all about cost savings...
